Overview
As part of the Trading Team, you will be responsible for maintaining trading activities of the desk. Your responsibilities will be to manage and hegde client flow of the newly formed brokerage unit. Further you are required to support the day-to-day operation of our risk management platform and develop new features by working with key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation - translating business requirements into solutions.
Key responsibilities:Manage and hedge the client brokerage flow
Help manage the desk risk positions
Apply cash and liquidity management (working closely with our operations team)
Research the latest projects and developments in the cryptocurrency ecosystem
Write regular market commentary as part of the brokerage product offering
Working closely with the technology team to continue development of our internal risk management, trading systems and systematic strategies (programming skills are a big plus)
Ensuring that trading & risk management systems are operational 24/7, taking on late or early shiftsQualifications:3+ years of experience in trading at a financial institution, favourably in cryptocurrencies (spot and derivatives)
Strong analytical skills and sound knowledge of VBA, Python, SQL, KDB, etc.
Strategic thinking combined with problem-solving skills; a passion for digitalisation and an interest in development in the crypto space
Ability to think outside the box, adapt to new market environment and a confident communicator
An entrepreneurial mentality with the ability to work well under pressure and a strong sense of personal accountability and ownership#LI-CH1
WHAT YOU WILL DODesign real-time pipelines to ingest blockchain analytics data into cloud-native databases
Make ingested blockchain data queryable for product analytics teams using a data visualization dashboard
Create tools to make data accessible via API for the Avalanche Explorer and Wallet
Partner with product teams and Data Scientist to identify new metrics to captureWHAT YOU WILL BRINGBachelors in Computer Science or related discipline
5+ years of hands on data engineering experience
5+ years of building cloud-native, high-throughput data processing systems

About the Role & Team
This is a fully remote role and we will consider applicants based throughout the world.
Consumer Trading System (CTS) is a back-end platform behind Consumer experience. Our flagship product is Buy Crypto widget allowing our users to instantly buy, sell, convert any combination of cryptocurrencies and cash. The CTS team is delivering new products, features and other enhancements that are being utilized by the front-end: Kraken Consumer mobile application and web version. The ideal candidate has professional experience with trading and trading products, a detailed understanding of consumer trading products, is data-driven, technically adept and has a proven track record of Product Management achievement. The position requires interaction with a wide variety of internal stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
The successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, process-driven environment and be able to adapt and adjust plans on-the-fly. You will join the backend services team which is in charge of building services that power Ledger products.
The team is composed of passionate Engineers who believe in the benefits and strength of functional programming to develop robust and scalable platforms and APIs. Customer-focused, they are also eager to understand and implement product and business requirements.
We are convinced that being an engineer is also taking time to challenge, discuss and share what we are working on. A dynamic roll over each service allows every team member to get involved in many projects over time.
